I painted Tide right alongside Stone during a period of massive transition, navigating motherhood while trying to rediscover my identity outside of a demanding corporate career. Tide became my space to reconnect with my own feminine energy, which I had suppressed for years in a fast-paced business environment. It represents the fluid, softer side of resilience.
Inside the base layers, I physically buried cut-up pieces of paper containing my own written dreams, fears, and hopes for the future, covering them in vibrant acrylics. The heavy, hand-sculpted white form on top is bound with thread, a tactile reminder of the raw, messy journey of healing. Tide is about letting go of control, trusting the rhythm of change, and finding joy in the fluidity of life.
