Sway Original Paintings
There are moments when the loudest thing you can do is slow down and trust what your hands already know. This painting was made at the same time as its companion piece, "Be Real, Be You", both born from the same need to create something unhurried, handmade and completely human.
On the side, a bird rises from the canvas, hand sculpted from wire and clay, built up with moulding paste and hand stitched. The words "trust yourself" are stitched directly into the canvas. A reminder that needed to be said out loud, so it was.
Beneath everything you see, the first layers are made of collage and paper cut-outs, dreams, goals and desires pressed into the foundation before a single brushstroke landed. Whoever brings this painting home carries all of that forward. Every good wish, every quiet intention, sealed beneath the surface and travelling with the work to wherever it belongs next.

Stone was born out of the same studio sessions as Tide, acting as its structural anchor. While Tide allowed me to explore fluidity, Stone was my way of processing the masculine energy that kept me grounded when my world felt completely overwhelming. It’s about the quiet, protective strength we have to call on when everything is changing around us.
Just like its companion, the foundation of this canvas holds hidden fragments of my own written thoughts and intentions, locked beneath deep, disciplined lines. The central white figure is built up in high relief and bound with thread, mimicking the weight and presence of a heavy stone. It’s a very personal reflection on containment, about creating a safe, stoic space to hold deep emotions until you are ready to unpack them.
