The sculpture at the centre is hand built from clay and moulding paste, a crab carrying its shelter with it wherever it goes. There is something quietly powerful about a creature that never has to search for home because it already has everything it needs. This painting is about that. The slow, tender work of building safety from the inside out.
Beneath everything you see, the first layers are made of collage and paper cut-outs, dreams, desires and intentions pressed into the foundation before anything else began. Whoever brings this home carries all of that forward. Every good wish I placed there, every quiet intention, sealed beneath the surface and travelling with the work to wherever it belongs next.
